I am working on migrating Lotus applications to Sharepoint 2007.
I have used Microsoft Transporter suite and Quest both, anyways i am facing some problems with these tools. For eg: When i migrate a discussion board from Notes to Sharepoint using Microsoft Transporter suite, the "Categories" field in Notes which is a look-up column in the Discussion board list in Sharepoint do not get migrated at all, hence loosing data integrity, the same is true for Quest...

I am surprised to hear your comment as I know that Quest's Notes Migrator for SharePoint (my product) can extract any custom fields, including Categories fields, and writes them to any List, Library or even InfoPath form library. This is one of the many areas in which Application Transporter and NMSP differ. One possibility is that you are just not seeing the results of your migration. You can adjust the Message content type and/or the Discussion views to show the additional columns you migrated. For more information about this product, please see my blog at { Link }

hi Stephen,Ya, i got it..I spoke to your tech support and they helped me out, i need to create a Category List manually, where the Category field would then act as a look-up field for Discussion board list in sharepoint. Earlier i thought that u would have had automated the process of creating categories...but thks for taking out time and replying back...
