PermaLink Lotusphere Anyone?11/30/2005 04:56 PM

Time to start thinking about Lotusphere 2006.  Last year I ran a booth on the product show case and it was a ton of work.  This year IBM won't let Microsoft have a booth.   So I'm trying to figure out how to do my standard million hours of free consulting at Lotusphere.   I need a place to hang out where folks can find me if they want to talk.    My only plan now is to go to ESPN on the Saturday night before.   What do you think?   Maybe Ed and I can be at the Dolphin bar at the top of the escalators.

Also, if you are a sky diver, most likely I'll be jumping the Friday and Saturday before.

There's usually a lot of people at ESPN later on Saturday evening for the Turtle gathering so it's a good place to meet a lot of people.

Wow, that's really lame that you can't have a booth. I wonder if the person who made the decision realizes that you're there to promote inter-operability? Do you know who turned you down? Maybe we could start a campaign or something. The Dolphin bar at the top of the stairs is a great place. Don't worry people will find you.

Alan, I tried to explain how my booth was good for everyone. Customers, Lotus and Microsoft. However, Lotusphere is run by Marketing folks and they just don't understand the issues. The good news is I will have more time to hang out now that I am free of booth duty. I will try to have a meeting place everyday of Loutsphere and it will be posted here

Alan, do you know what a "trojan horse" is?

"Alan, do you know what a "trojan horse" is?"

That may be how some IBM folks see it but MS has some great stuff that has been on the Notes wish list for years. You can do some really cool things with .NET and Notes without ever migrating to Sharepoint or Exchange.

And Notes was one of the most successful IT trojan horses ever.

See you at ESPN Sports Bar.

Juan, I'm going down on the wednesday before Lotusphere to jump at Lake Whales Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday. They are having a boogie with a Casa and Otter. We can do big-ways, head down, sit, you name it. Where do you normally jump.
